Natural Agate and Lace

Agate is said to have the following properties: balancing of the masculine and feminine energies, courage, protection, healing and calming. No gemstone is more creatively striped by nature than agate, a chalcedony quartz that forms in concentric layers in a wide variety of colors and textures. Each individual agate forms by filling a cavity in a host rock. As a result it is often found as a round nodule, with concentric bands like the rings of a tree trunk. Agate was highly valued as a talisman or amulet in ancient times. It was said to quench thirst, strengthen the sight, protect from fevers and promote marital fidelity. Persian magicians used it to divert storms. Agate provides for balancing of Yin/Yang energy and for balancing of the physical, emotional and intellectual bodies with the etheric energies.
