About Olivia
From her stained glass studio in Phoenix, Arizona, Olivia will transform your
vision into a unique custom piece of art for your home, office or work
place.
Born in Paris, France where
she studied art, Olivia has now been having fun creating designs with
stained glass for 30 years.
After moving to the US
and back several times, developing her skills and artistic eye, Olivia
settled 20 miles from Paris in a 12th century farmhouse that she restored
for several years. At that time, stained glass was just a hobby, but
there was such a demand for her art that it soon became a full-time job.
Olivia had her gallery EXOTICA in the Paris region.
After selling her
farmhouse, she moved to the south of France where she helped a friend
establish her gallery "Place Des Arts" in Toulouse.
Olivia then moved to
Gabon (Central Western Africa) and had her gallery OLIVIA VITRAUX. She
spent 12 years there before becoming a resident of Arizona. She feels that
her African experience is a fertile source of inspiration as she
integrates African designs into her already diverse portfolio.
While in Africa, Olivia
won the first prize in a contest for the entire territory of Gabon in
2000. The theme was "The Entry into the Third Millennium" and
she was unanimously named "Genius artist of the 3rd millennium"
because of her outstanding creations such as, "The Blue
Planet". "The Wing of the Angel", "The Unity of all
Religions", and "Technology and Communication".
Being a sun worshiper and
desert lover, Olivia is now living in Phoenix, where she created her
studio and company, Visions By Olivia. She has an abundance
of ideas centered around the African theme and
specializes in African design. She also enjoys designing abstract and
contemporary pieces, as well as nature subjects. She is constantly
striving to purify the line.
Her versatile
personality, along with her unique style and flair for rich colors, come
together in art pieces truly out of the ordinary - where she mixes
textures using rocks, metal and whatever suits her fancy. Olivia
particularly enjoys creating freestanding screens, figurines, and wall
hangings. Her original collections are found throughout the world.
Special orders welcome.

Why would you want to
display stained glass in your environment?
- For privacy with an opalescent glass
bathroom window or sidelight.
- To hide an unsightly view with a design
and colors you'll have pleasure looking at every day, on a window or
sidelight.
- To make a statement or enhance a
particular atmosphere in a room with a wall hanging, window, room
divider, screen, mirror, figurine, etc. You may want to set the mood
for relaxation or for more energy for example.
- To use color as a healing tool
Stained glass colors
can never fade and your purchase will last well over a lifetime.
You will get a truly one
of a kind original piece; we draw our own designs, and every step of the
stained glass making process is done by hand:
After the original design
is drawn to actual size, each piece of glass is hand cut and assembled
with either lead came or copper foil, depending on the project, then
soldered.
The cost of the piece is
determined by the size and complexity of the design. If you are within
reasonable distance we will be glad to meet you and discuss your project,
we will take measurements and give you a free quote.
If you would like to
purchase a figurine or something similar to what you see on this web site
and would like to have it shipped, please contact us.
Whatever your idea may
be, we would love to hear from you and study it with you.
- We will be glad to create that special
piece for you or
- We can teach you how to fabricate it by
yourself: Enroll in a fun beginning stained glass class. Olivia will
work closely with you to reveal the fantastic world of stained glass
and guide you in translating your dream vision into a piece of art
you will be proud to display. No experience necessary.
- Olivia is currently teaching at the
Center for the Arts and at the Oasis Association in Phoenix and also
from her studio in Deer Valley.
